Equality of opportunity requires equality in all spheres, including that of dress in schools. The social mix during the period of school life would have allowed children to ethnic, religious and social backgrounds learn to live together and build a future of cohesion. However, it is not, and due to differences in dress hype lobbies known brands are more representations of a form of discrimination even more insidious than the distinction of race, the it affects all students from poor families. Many of these families feel obliged to meet the demands of clothing for their children so they do not feel rejected by their classmates, and sometimes are even going into debt for it.
The China
school uniform would allow children of all backgrounds to focus on their goal of academic success by withdrawing them from an unnecessary burden which they are not always aware of the need to sacrifice fashion for fear of being excluded. It is wearing
China uniform identical to their comrades that they will be proud to affirm their own identity and not a style of dress adopted for acceptance and they are not always proud (suits, shoes, caps). The positive effects of the adoption of a
uniform may be multiple, we can obviously consider a reduction in levels of violence in schools, better integration of children of immigrants, a removal of social barriers, improved academic achievement by absence of distraction due to held fantasy, and finally, the adoption of a behavior, posture and a language naturally induced by this type of dress code.
Shaping an esprit de corps, the uniform is charged with developing the gregarious instincts. Imposing a dress code for youth, it prevents the expression of personality. By accustoming young people to accept a mold, is a powerful vector of social conformity.
